1989 Mustang GT -Street/Strip for Sale $4000.00

PW, PL, Sunroof. This car is made to drag. 5 speed manual transmission, new clutch and pressure plate. This is an original 5.0 mustang that I have swapped the original fuel injected 302 for a carbureted 289. The 289 has Windsor heads, roller rockers, large solid lift cam, knife edged crank that is fully polished, and the motor really sounds tough. I have never been inside the motor; all of this information comes from the guy I traded to that had it built. The estimated compression is 12:1. Pretty radical little motor. It has a Holley 650 carburetor (The jets and squirters are probably different sizes as we traded and robbed them for our dirt track car last year). It has an MSD 6AL ignition and distributor with rev limiter. The MSD set up was bought brand new and has only been run a few times. The coil is an older MSD blaster. Motor has full length headers. New Morosso Oil Pan, Carter Fuel Pump, Ford Racing oil pump. I had planned on replacing the factor power steering with a manual rack, but never got that far. All of the factory power steering hardware is still attached, just isn't being ran by the motor. No alternator. No A/C. The tranny has a red Lakewood blow-proof bell housing. The car is still equipped with the factory 5 speed. The car is stiffened up with frame connectors and Lakewood upper and lower control arms. The rear end is an factory 8.8". The housing is the only thing stock about it though. It is fitted with a full spool and 488 Richmond gears. Strange 32 spline race axles and c clip eliminators. Car is Equipped with adjustable drag shocks. The wheels are Weld Drag Lites (4 Lug), fronts are 15x6 and rears are 15x8. The tires are holding air, fronts are ok, and rears are BF Goodrich Drag Radials that need to be replaced. The interior is complete. Back seat mounts/brackets are missing so you we need to replace those if you wanted the back seat to be usable. The fuel tank was removed from the car and it was re-plumed for a fuel cell in the rear as well as the battery. Cosmetically, the hood has a dent and needs repainting and the top of the car has a spot where it looks like someone drove it under something that was too low and it put a dent and took paint off. Driver's side front fender is also dented and will need to be replaced. I have picture of this damage. This was a project car for me that I am not going to be able to complete right now. With a new paint job and some work. This could be a pretty potent little street or strip car. The lights are all there, I had taken them out when we put the motor in to get the wires out of the way when we swapped motors. I have only driven it on the street a few times and it is a blast, no idea what it would run at the strip. I did run in an 8.0 sec 1/8 mile class in Paragould with the factory 302 and nitrous and this motor seems much more aggressive.
